I don't want to flood him, but he's still not receiving my netmail. Everyone else is receiving via Micronet and Fidonet. If he volunteers on here, could someone with routed netmail send him a message? I'm sure direct would work, but we need to test routed.

Neither node flies the PING flag, so they don't have to respond. Just more of an observation.

I sent it to Warpslide, do I need to use your real name?

You ALWAYS have to use real names in netmail. It was not designed to use aliases and can result in your messages being deleted en route if a name is
    not found in a nodelist.

It is -required- that you use real names in netmail.

From the Micronet Policy Document in section 1, paragraph 7:

    7. Netmail requires real names to be used without exception due to the way
netmail is handled by FTN nodes in Micronet. If aliases are used, your
    message may not get delivered.

I bet this is why your netmail may be having issues.

Again, always use real names for netmail. You used my full name in your netmails to me.

    Howdy,

So this sparked some curiosity with me, as I dont see how or why this would occur. (Unless I'm not understanding the context of this discussion?)

It is quite conceivable that user "Teller" on a system could send me a netmail, and:

    a) "Teller" wouldnt appear in the nodelist, as he is a user,
    b) "Teller" could be a real name.

Is there a spec that I've missed that explains your position in more detail?

When clrghouz processes mail (and netmail) for systems, it does no processing on the "name" fields of a message in a packet (and many other fields for that matter).

sounds weird to me as well. so a user can't send netmail, because they are not in the nodelist? never heard this before. :)

It comes from Fidonet's real-namke requirement and how my system would kill single-name named emails. I used to get mail bombs from some nasty people
(who are ironically all dead now) and you did make me think about modifying that. I wrote that 24 years ago and it's not really needed now.

I agree, that's poorly written. I'll remove that by next Friday.
