I don't mind Taco Bell on the rare occasion but eating it 9 times in
one day while also running sounds like hell. LOL

It's also quite expensive these days. The dang burritos that you used to be able to get several of with the change you find in the drivethru are now almost $3. Ridiculous!

expensive. Burger King had some pretty good deals too, such as 2 Whopper meals w/ small fries & drinks for $9 (US), etc.. But not anymore.
We were lucky to have grown up in the age of car ashtrays full of
change, cheap cars, cheap gas and cheap drive-thru fast food. :)

Totally. I could ride my bike to the Taco Bell drive-thru and find
enough change on the ground for at least one, sometimes two, 29 cent burritos! Even when the price kept going up to 59 cents!
For some reason, I'm really not a fan of ordering food through an app
or a website or basically anything other than talking to a person. It's weird that I'm not, because I love computers and tech and all that
shit.. but I also don't like talking to computers. Giving them commands through a keyboard is sufficient for me... but I digress. People talk
about the deals through the apps and such.. I suppose I don't eat at
fast food places enough to take advantage of those things. When you are saying $9 for two Whopper meals is cheap, I'm thinking that used to be
$6, and it wasn't worth it THEN.
What kills me is all the different parking apps I have had to download, what a total pain in the ass those things are!

And to top that off, I oftentimes _can't_ use an app, because I've never bothered to change my Google location from the US to Germany, so a variety of apps wind up being region locked.

Have you noticed that Jack In The Box tacos are still 2 for 99cents,
like they have been for like 40 years or something? That's a little
weird.

Man, I too miss the days where you could gather a whole bunch of loose change or have a few bucks and get more burritos and tacos than you
knew what to do with.
There was a local diner, we'd get a basket of steak fries and coffees.
Perfectly fried, crispy on the outside and flakey on the inside - and
insanely hot.

Temperature hot, or spicy hot?
Temp - right out of the fryer. Light salt. Perfection.
I got an air fryer about 5 years
ago, and I think it has been very
handy. It does a great job with
french fries, onion rings, chicken
strips & similar snacks & foods.
I've even cooked hamburger patties
in it, and they came out pretty
good.
I have to give my air fryer another try... I've used it a couple of times but I feel like everything just always comes out dry and overall not that good.
I've tried chicken, vegetables, and tater tots.. The tater tots were the only ones that came out okay.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Any tips?

I'm not really sure what to
suggest, as I haven't had too many
things come out dry & not good with
my air fryer.. Not sure what I
might be doing differently. But
sometimes I think the recommended
cooking times might be a little too
long sometimes (though when cooking
meats, you do still need to ensure
you cook it enough to kill
bacteria).

I decided to dust off and pull out the air fryer again tonight and give it another go for dinner.
Tonight I decided to make some air fried chicken and it actually came out good!
While I was prepping things, I preheated the air fryer before actually cooking. I then also dialed back the cook time a tiny bit and made sure to flip half way through .
It's been a long time since I gave it a go so I'm not really sure what I messed up so bad in previous attempts. This was easy and quick (I think took about 15 min?)
My guess is I must have just been cooking things way too long.
I'm going to have to try and throw some more things into this thing in the future and see how it turns out!

Most stuff I air fry comes out fine. Cheese on toast is a bit iffy (sometimes if the cheese is too thin it blows off / gets sucked into
the fan) but other than that 95% good.
My one recommendation is to use a low setting (bake?) to get everything hot then turn it up to a higher setting for the last couple of minutes
to crisp up if you want it crunchier.

That is usually what causes me issues. I also preheat and try to
remember to turn things about halfway, as you mentioned. Not
overcooking, and doing those things, seems to give good results.
