• Zone 1 Election for Zone Coordinator

I also would appreciate it if Zone 2 was kept out of Z1C for the
remainer of my tenure, certainly during the election. We have a good number of Zone 1 members who could handle the "election coordinator"
    or whatever job.

I was thinking of asking if Vince Coen was willing to serve as the election coordinator. If a Z1 sysop takes the job, someone might claim they tried to influence the outcome with their own vote.

I only mention this since I was forwarded Michiel van der Vlist's
netmail to all of the Z1 RCs...

Interesting that I never received it. I'll have to check my other system.

    Andrew

Public nominations/seconds/debate in Z1C and NetMail balloting with passwords?

I agree with this proposed procedure.

I also think that this election should held with only Z1 participation.

I have no issue with using it; however I figured that Z1C had a better chance of the links being intact. It's been a long time since Z1_ELECTION was used for its intended purpose.

So selective distribution to only 80% of the Z1 RCs. That right there shows this to be exactly what it is: political manipulation/meddling by someone who shouldn't be involved. Ask Michiel how that worked out for the Russians in the last US Presidential election.

I will not allow him to be involved in this process, which by Policy is the sole responsibility of the Zone 1 RCs.

it has been a long time since Z1_ELECTION was used for any purpose... i think the last real election that took place in there was the Z1EC election... not sure if that was the one that placed xxcarol as Z1EC or if it was the hugely rough one previous to that that was a huge battle...

hahahaha... it is all to easy to count from 10 to 19 and the person in question
is very capable of various methods of performing that count... the following method works great ;)

    grep -e "^Region,1" nodelist.112 | cut -d "," -f 1,2,5

    Region,10,Kurt_Weiske
    Region,11,RJ_Clay
    Region,12,Nick_Andre
    Region,13,Michael_Luko
    Region,14,Jeff_Smith
    Region,15,Tj_Barlow
    Region,16,Andrew_Leary
    Region,17,Dallas_Hinton
    Region,18,mark_lewis
    Region,19,Marc_Lewis

that's enough to stuff into a script and fire off to the /0 address... granted,
mine arrived via a direct connection but it could be possible that others were send routed since there's no DIR flag in what i received...

    Hi Folks,

It's been a long time since we've had an election in Zone 1 for Zone 1 coordinator (quite <grin>).

Today, I'm asking the RCs in Zone 1 to organize an election in Zone 1
    where
    any
past or present NC, past or present RC, or past or present ZC may be nominated/elected. The date of the election will be at the discrection
    of
the RCs though I'm hoping this can be done quickly with the least disruption to Zone 1.

I will not be running in this election since life has become very busy
    here
    with family, etc.

Final note, thank you to all of you in Zone 1 who've helped keep Zone 1 running
    :)

    Thanks again,
    Janis Kracht, Z1C
