I am VERY interested in what I have seen at your site.
I very much perfer Wildcat 4.20 and have been looking for a
interface that works well for a very long time.

There are a few issues with your website.
I can not create an account.
I can not sign up for the mailing list.
The Navigation links don't do anything.
Tried both the http and the https
and I have tried two different browsers.

Please fix this when you have a moment, I am very interested in your site.

Greg, you can always TELNET into his BBS and set up an account there,
unless Thomas has new account creation turned off for some reason. As
for Wildcat! 4.2, I run that under eComStation 2.1 beta 2 at
os2.winserver.us (telnet only). What are you looking for for version
    4.2 of Wildcat?

    Robert,

    Thanks for responding.
I really like wildcat 4.20 because I know it well
    and its ease of use.
The users perfered it too, because I when I switched
from wildcat 4.20 to a ra clone elebbs.
People did not really care for it.

    As to why I switched.
I think it may of been pure pressure from the people within
my net. All I heard was (around here, we use RA)
I dont know if they did not know enough about wildcat
to know that it was superior in many ways.
The trouble is that there was one configuration file that was shared from sysop
to sysop and no one really knew
how to really make it thier own.
I wish I never switched, which leads me to today.
I am the only person left in my net. Net 267.
The old ones either have died or moved away.
Once I get my system operational I will never switch for any reasoning.

I have tried wildcat 5 and wins and have purchased
Platinum Xpress for DOS as well as Windows [wildcat 5 and wins].

My friend Philip Lozier called it platinum distress.

I just could never get it to work and really did not
have the motivation to make it work, I guess because I am
very nostalgic about the feel and look of wildcat 4.20
I would be open to a mailer working well with wc4.20 even be looking to getting
platinum xpress dos version a GO again.
Getting people online via modem, that time has long since passed. But getting people coming in through the intenet via telnet would be nice to see.

    What are you looking for
    for version 4.2 of Wildcat?
I am looking a means connect the wc 4.20 system to the internet so that I will have a telnettable wc 4.20 system
and still have my fidonet for the users as well as my own use.
    Thanks

Yeah, admittedly, I didn't care for EleBBS that much, either. I never was an RA fan (on which I believe a lot of EleBBS was based, IIRC).

    As to why I switched.
I think it may of been pure pressure from the people within
my net. All I heard was (around here, we use RA)
I dont know if they did not know enough about wildcat

This sounds all too, too familiar.

The trouble is that there was one configuration file that was shared
from sysop to sysop and no one really knew
how to really make it thier own.

I wrote what I believe to be one of the first configuration guides that walks you through step by step on how to make PX/Wins accept inbound telnet calls using Netserial (which can also be used to make Wildcat! 4.2 telnetable under Windows).

I have tried wildcat 5 and wins and have purchased
Platinum Xpress for DOS as well as Windows [wildcat 5 and wins].

My friend Philip Lozier called it platinum distress.

Unfortunately, for Wildcat! 6, there isn't any other choice as far as fido
    type mailers are concerned.

I would be open to a mailer working well with wc4.20 even be looking
to getting platinum xpress dos version a GO again.

You need to contact Joe Martin at ViaSoft. His ViaMail! 2.00 for Wildcat! 4.2 is available for free now and includes a built-in echomail and TIC processor
as well as a built-in front end mailer all rolled into one package. Granted, you still need a package like Internet Rex to transfer FTN packets over the internet, but even Internet Rex is still able to be registered. I use
Internet Rex alongside Platinum Xpress for Windows here on my main BBS.

Getting people online via modem, that time has long since passed. But getting people coming in through the intenet via telnet would be nice
    to see.

I still do Fido dialouts to Joe Martin's system in Colorado. Vonage works
nice and I always get a consistent 33.6k connection with his system.

I am looking a means connect the wc 4.20 system to the internet so
that I will have a telnettable wc 4.20 system
and still have my fidonet for the users as well as my own use.

Try NetSerial and NetFOSSIL. Used together, I think they would meet your requirements. If you need any help, please feel free to post here in the
    echo.

Yes, I do run Platinum Xpress v3.0pr5 with Wildcat! 7. Is your BBS going to
be dialup only or connected to the Internet? If you are connected to the Internet, Platinum Xpress does not do internet transfers natively and requires the use of a third party prioduct such as Internet Rex.

You need to send him an email to request a copy of the ViaMail installer.

Well, if you use Internet Rex, then you only need ViaMail to toss and export TICs and echomail packets.
