• Fido Tosser for Wildcat! 6 and 7

From Robert Wolfe@1:116/18 to All on Sun May 10 22:23:52 2015
    Hi all!

So, I am seriously rethinking the idea of writing a Fido type tosser/scanner/packer/tic processor and releasing it as a commercial product --
albeit at a much lower cost than PX/Wins. :) I am wondering what everyone's thoughts on this are and what the interest is in such a product?

The only information I would need is the specs on the Fido .PKT format so that I can export messages from and import messages to the Wildcat! message database.

To test this out, I am thinking about setting up a development and testing (basically R&D) Wildcat! 6.4 system separate from my main BBS to work on development of the package.

Once I get the information I need, I will know where I can TRY to begin to proceed with the project.

And yes, my Wildcat! board is still up at Winserver.us, it's just that all the Fidonet and other message networks are over on the BBBS/NT side of the house (at winserver.com:2323 telnet). I still get a lot of activity in the doors on the Wildcat! side of things :)

    I definitely am interested.

If you could include and incoming and outgoing TIC / files processor
    that would be good too.

Heh, baby steps :) I can add messages into the Wildcat! message database easily enough, but adding files is another story :)

Totally understand. I have not done any significant programing in
    about 15 years . . . got old(er). :-)

Which is something we all tend to do :)
