Well, just found out today that HLS and crew are not sbipping printed manuals with Platinum Xpress for Windows anymore, but instead referring people to their crappy incomplete help files. Also, it looks like thayare
also sending Wildcat 5.x printed manuals out for version 6.4. As such,my
support queue here has grown considerably with questions from otherWildcat!
folks asking for help in getting their systems set up.
Because of the lack of support from SSI, I am rethinking the future of
my BBS running Wildcat! (but I will still moderate the Wildcat! Support
echo as much as I can). I am tired, almost to the point of getting burnt out.
HLS and company seems like they are running the software into the
ground.
I always loved the Wilcat! Software and was a Beta Tester for Version 4.xx. After I upgraded to Wilcat 5.x the lack of support just frustrated me. I too
the bbs down for several years and decided to try again. Still no help and couldn't get access to files on the website, even with email after email....

I know. I beta tested 4.20 back in the day. Wildcat! is a good
package, which is why I try to offer as much help as I can to other
Wildcat! sysops, whether it be getting them set up and running or if they just need a custom wcBASIC application written. I have a LOT of custom mods I've written in operation on my BBS (the message editor being one of them) plus some regular mods that I allow others to download and use. I basically use my 'Cat as a development and testing system as well as to showcase the addons that I write.
I was setting up my Multi Node Wildcat 4.2 with Netserial and had it working
till a computer crash. I'll probably try again soon..... Miss all my Wildcat
stuff. Right now I'm running Synchronet under Ubuntu. Works good and lots of
support. Still miss my Wildcat! though.....
