  • NC and polling

    right now i have Ben set up as my boss and poll him lots that works fine so really i am suppose to have my NC as boss and poll him instead? how does that work exactly?
    I tried polling the NC about 5 times day and night just got busy signal will try again today a few more times I imagine the NC is a busy place to poll thanks for your help

    No, you don't have to have your NC as your boss node for echomail.
    Although I wish you had told me ahead of time you were going to switch
    over to him so I could remove your information and waiting mail from my
    system.

    Which is why you get your echomail from another system on the Internet
    and only transfer mail with your NC with you have outbound netmail. If
    you want, I can go ahead and remove you from here. I'd hate to because
    I would hate to think of the money you wasted on Internet Rex by no
    longer using it.

    NO dont remove me I will still poll via your site Robert but I had ben set up as boss and seems i am suppose to have NC as boss is that a rule? or can i have

    Hi Donald,

    Here's how it works:

    1.) You have to get your permanent _node number_ from your Network Coordinator
    in your local net, net 138. Watch your email in case he contacts you in
    email.

    2.) You will need to poll him at least once a week to check for any netmail for
    your system, and also for any regional echos he has for you.

    3.) You can get your echomail and files from anyone, like Ben or Robert (I
    guess Robert is setting up to feed you the files and echomail).

    I am lost when it comesw to fidonet
    so new at this
