    Hi Donald,

I cant wait for my perm node number
    smiles

Yeah, I understand. I remember what that was like so many years ago for myself as well <grin>. Your NC has been in contact with me and your node number will be sent to you as soon as he is able to send it :)

There are real-life situations involved here, but believe me, he will get it to
you as soon as he can. Sometimes real-life impinges on our hobby and we just have to deal.

It can take up to two weeks to get a node number so try to be patient :) Use the time to fine tune your bbs, get your uplink set up, that kind of thing. Remember, you can pick up your echomail and files from anyone you like. You still have to poll your NC once in a while for netmail, but it's ok if it's not
    everyday.

To set up the echos, etc., you can use the temporary node number that Ben gave you or use this temp. node number: 1:138/999 until you hear from Marc Blakely, your NC (network coordinator) at 1:138/0. Then once you get your own permanent
node number, you can post messages from your system <g>.

    ok i will wait

    maybe tomorrow?

Can't tell you, sorry :) Remember, people have lives that can keep them really busy. I will keep watch on this though, you can be sure of that <g>.

    I havent heard anything yet
Happy Christmas to you and yours Janis
    donald

Thanks so much Donald, We had a great Christmas and I hope you also had a great
Christmas :) 50F on Christmas day in Central NY, and I don't hear anyone complaining <vbg> Usually we'd be buried in snow and more snow.. <g>

    Take care,
    Janis

Uplink set up - CHECK! ;)

Hmm, I often find it best to poll my NC every day. Then again, using binkp, it's not an issue. But, Janis, I know I poll you like, what, every 15 minutes or so for mail? :)

To set up the echos, etc., you can use the temporary node number that Ben gave

Janis, we already have him set up with his temp node number and he has been transferring mail packets with me successfully for a few days now. :) Hopefully once Donald get's jhis permanent node number, we can work together
to get that piece switched over on both his end and my end so that there will not be any break in service :)

    Hi Robert.

    Good going.. :)

    That's fine, really.

    Then again, using binkp,
it's not an issue. But, Janis, I know I poll you like, what, every 15 minutes
    or so for mail? :)

I'm not your NC, just your uplink, so it makes sense you'd poll me that often

Good also. But he should not post in any echos until he has his own permanent node number. If someone tries to netmail him it won't work until he has his own node number.

    Take care,
    Janis

Ah, that makes sense, actually. I guess what gets me "cornfuzzled" sometimes is the daily nodelists that come down the pipeline.
