  • Need Help with Platinum Xpress

    Any chance you write net-mail using Winserver with Platinum Xpress?
    I can not get my netmail door to write net-mail for anything. So much
    I had to get rid of it and switch to Mystic. Otherwise it'd be great,
    but without the ability to write and reply to net-mail via console it's
    pretty much useless. I think it allowed me to write via web mail (which
    I pretty much dispise), but since I never got a reply and the messages
    show up incorrectly every where else, I really have no proof.

    You have to setup the netmail conf. in WINS and make sure its set to
    Netmail. Wcconfig > Mail areas > What ever number conference you want
    your netmail in > settings > fidoNet Netmail, private.

    THan in PX you have to tell it what onference you have it set in Wildcat ..

    PXconfig > FidoSetup > Netmail setup > Promary Wildcat Netmail
    conference .. make sure thats set to the same conference as you setup in Wildcat.

    also PX has a utility called PXtools .. you can log into the editor join the netmail conf. and write away ..

    I rarely send netmail and have only sent/received from my uplink hub as I don't understand it fully and the telnet interface hangs when I enter a netmail message after entering the fido address I'm sending it to, I just checked the web interface and it didn't even present me with the netmail conference to enter a message!!! I need to get SSI to fix these problems.

    The only way I am able to send netmail is by entering a message using
    bapstats message module then running pxnet.exe (via between.bat) that
    scans and creates the outbound packet and then IREX sends it off, or
    something like that.

    Pretty much same situation here, except I don't have Bap Stats, and prefer
    to send net-mail via Telnet.... At least that confirms I'm not the only
    one... I can use pxtools as suggested, but When you spend more time calling your BBS from another computer, you don't really want to have to launch a
    VNC connection to the desktop just to write or reply to a message.... Apparently something changed in the header files for PXW or the message
    areas and since PXW hasn't been touched in ages, they haven't bothered to
    fix it...

    Let me know if you run across a fix to this besides BapStats.
