FWIW: my system(s) carry all the areas currently on the backbone in Z1... there
are a lot that are dead but have not yet been removed... they keep getting "revived" when someone posts a "anyone here" type message ;) but for some of them, it is good that they are still carried... especially some of the older bbs related ones...

Still a lot to do on it. Plus I have to get my toes wet with TG script again, the default login is fairly craptacular. And a ton of strings to edit. But, hey, progress is being made!

Speaking of this fine BBS package, I see by the docs that lightbar support is in it, and can enable it in individual menus, but have yet to see anything else about it. No menu commands that I can find. Anyone know if it's just for YES/NO prompts, or can I create custom without having to resort to the old
way of scripting and multiple ANSI screens?

I was not aware of Telegard ever supporting something like that. No clue, sorry...

Glad you responded. I do remember when this echo, renegade and others were very busy. Sort of sad to seem them so inactive.

What is there, one Telegard BBS active at the moment (not counting mine, it's not live yet)? Most likely because Mystic and Synchronet have made them more accessible and are continuously updated. Makes me a bit sad as well, I'm having a blast working on this thing.

We should all make a pact to run 2nd BBSes, and make them all TG and RG =)

Outside of a little nostalgia, they're just lightyears behind everything else at this point. I did try to install Renegade not all that long ago, but it was crashing right and left I couldn't even make usable message bases so I just gave up as soon as I started.

TG works great though! There just isn't really any reason to use it outside
    of nostalgia.

Oh, I know. I'm not looking for cutting-edge with Telegard, obviously, that's why we have you =)

It's just fun to get this all working again and actually having a live Telegard BBS. I never got to back in the day. Money issues and whatnot. But I worked on my Telegard BBS like a fiend, it was setup fairly nicely. Just
never got to get it live and accepting callers full time. But now I can! So dammit, that's what I'm gonna do. haha

I figure another few weeks and it'll be live. So much string editing though, holy crap. And the way it handles the default login is just aesthetically horrible. Using zeroliners for oneliners atm as a default placement until I can script a better one. I can't wait to script all sorts of nonsense for
this thing. Too bad I'm going to be the only one able to use it all, since nobody uses Telegard anymore.

Yeah it will still be cool to see a TG BBS again. The scripting language if
I recall was pretty limiting in Telegard... The good news is that since there haven't been updates in so long, all of the old TG 3.x utilities will still work! :)

It's *really* limited, but I can recreate some usual login utils and apps from it, or create my own other stuff if I wanted, which I do, and I will. Just want to get most of it configged up and looking nice before tackling those.

And yeah, they mostly seem to. One, TGCOOL, a string editor works nicely, when it works. Otherwise I can't use it because it wants to delete two random strings from the ENGLISH.TXT file and append line 1,000-1,002 in their place, all on one line. A few of the other utils I'm using for other stuff seem to work flawlessly.

Just you? I haven't seen a TG BBS in a long long time! :)

I am setting one up now. It is available at wcalt.rdfig.net on standard port 23. Have got it connected to my GameSrv for doors and will add Odin's Maze
and a couple of others. Not sure about DoorParty and BBSLinks.

Found an app to autocreate message echo for Fido and am struggling on
deciding best route to get messages. I have DBridge setup to receive packets but need an echo mail processor to unpack it and I think I could use Telemail to import messages into Telegard message bases.

However any util I find to do this is no longer available or supported.
So I guess I am asking for recommendation on what to use.

So I have dbridge, but need an unpacker and something to toss into telegard and to scan and pack for dbridge. Suggestions please on what will work.
