• Well I am NOT pleased with TERMINATE

From Al Kaiser@1:142/926 to All on Mon Mar 26 16:55:33 2012
I got to say that I am not pleased with TERMINATE. I have been having problems with the program for quite a while now, and have asked questions here a few times asking for advise or help and have received no replies.

Again the problem that I have is I am unable to perform any maintainace on
the areas. I can not mass delete messsages or pack the areas. I keep
getting an error message that there was a problem swapping to XMS memory and I've asked if it is my computer, (an XP desktop) or the program.

I'm actually thinking of looking for another program that works with BINKD
to get, read, and send my mail.

It's a shame that support and updating for TERMAIL has collapsed.

I am not sure that many people monitor the echo, even though it is still backboned. I like Terminate from what I saw in the past with it, but you are right, support is non-existent and neither is the ability to register the application. You would think that if the autho has no interest in it anymore he would either release a keygen for it or relase the program as open source.

Yea I agree. The more I look at the way TERMAIL is running the less I
am beginning to like it, but it never seemed to run like this before. I've tried to reinsall the program, looked over the configuration a few time and spent hours trying to figure out what is wrong. Time to look for something else. My BOSS says he has some packages and have received some suggestiong about Golded

    Thanks

I guess one thing that I discovered tonight is that my Tagline manager is
not working correctly in the beginning of the messge. I don't know if that
is the problem of my system, Windows XP, TERMAIL or the Tagline program itself. I don't remember when the probems started happening. I know that maybe 6 years ago, I lost the computer in a lightning hit, (actually lost maybe about 10 K worth of computers, radio equipment, towers and antennas). I had a new computer made and reinstalled everything from what I believe was a backup.

I thought everything was running OK.. Then I lost my feed and it took quite
a while to get another one. Been a number of problems with feed and things.

I don't remember why I switched from T-Matic to TMNICE. I think that something changed in either my OPsystem or the the tagline manager and T-Matic was not working so I changed to TMNICE which worked pretty well.

I don't know when it stopped working right, but you can see by the header
even the date in the message is screwed up.

I tried to play around with for a few hours but got nowhere.

Funny I GOOGLED TMNICE and actually the FIRST thin I found was TWO FIDO
messges that I got from Patrick Logist that he wrote to me in Aprile 2009
on how I got TMNICE working. I also see that I said that T-MATIC was working. I may try and screw around with it more and get try TMNICE again.

GoldEd is a pretty decent package AFAIC. Once you get a decent tosser/scanner and mailer for it, that's all you really need if you are going to run a point.

Golded is just a mail editor running under all of the different platforms, eg, Linux, OS/2,
    Windos, IBM m/f etc.

I have heard from about three people who said Golded +, sounds like this is popular one. I am wondering what tagline programs it supports?

Well I was never able to get this going. I can't find an install program and if I try and run the EXEs nothing happens. So I am still stuck here.

Thee does not seem to be much startup support here.
