what problems in ele are you speaking of?? when one has the source code, one can fix most anything...

I've had a problem with EleWeb when I'm trying to read messages, if I spend too much time reading a long thread (usually 3 or more minutes) I have to log in again. It's annoying because I have to go through the whole process of getting back to where I was before I was forced to log in again.

Source code is great to have, but not being a programmer squashes any hope of fixing that problem. Also, I've been told that the programming language itself has been modified.

For a telnet only system, NOTHING beats RA.

that sounds like a session timeout problem... i'm not familiar with how eleweb is set up but it could be a setting in the web server and not something in eleweb... i don't know but have been looking for some time to spend with ele and her friends...

are you talking about the script language or the various flavors of PASCAL that
    can compile ele?

pretty much my view, too :)

Not being a programmer, I really don't know. I was told that the language (PASCAL) that EleWeb was written in was a modified version (customized all to heck), but that was just what I was told by a couple of SysOps who were supposed to be proficient at programming. Again, I don't know. Just repeating what I was told.
