I see a lot of advantage to this new thing about all the
money you can raise being ok. One thing is we can do away
with names on the ballot - just vote for "Mr. Banking," or
"Mr. Big Oil," or "Mr.Wall Street," or my fav "Mr. Big
    rugs."

IMO *only* the candidates' names should appear on the ballot; no mention
of any party affiliation. If the voter doesn't know who the candidates are then s/he has no business being in the voting booth.

I've always wanted states to eliminate the option of straight ticket
voting, where by making one "X" you can vote for every candidate of one
party and none from the other party. But the idea of having ballots with
no party names at all sounds even better.

Ahhhh, the sour smell of a lack on an argument. ;)

This recent Supreme Court ruling is literally the very
definition of fascism as defined by Benito Mussolini.

Sauer doesn't understand what fascism is. Why don't you help him out?
What is the definition of fascism? Mussolini's definition. The literal definition. The "very" definition.

Now, could you next explain why the Court ruling is the "very" definition?

    This could be amusing.

The First Amendment is fascist? Say what?

    Absolutely hilarious!

It's amazing what these idiots come up with.

Contrary to Wayne's raving, this SC ruling is not fascist.

In fact the only SC ruling I can think of that *WAS* fascist in nature was
the Dred Scott ruling, which pretty much stated, "The US is whites only, n****** don't count."

Now, as to this ruling, just something to remember here:

This ruling lets unions and even Hugo Chavez dump as much money as they
want to to any candidate they want to.

    Just something to think about...

Why do you insist on showing the world you have no earthly clue what fascism is?

You are an absolute idiot. What this ruling does is remove the Democrats' advantage in campaign fund raising. It will have no effect on how much unions contribute to campaigns. Hugo Chavez will not be able to contribute anything.

The interesting thing is how Obama pledged to give a "forceful response" to this ruling and claiming how this allows special interests to "drown out the voices of the people." In light of his choosing to be the first major candidate
to forgo matching public funds last year and the majority of his contributors being lawyers and law firms and other special interests, it's a bit of hubris on his part to condemn this SC ruling.
