What really complicates the issue is that there already is a vibrant

It isn't a "cultural center" it's a mosque. There are already over 100 mosques in New York.
The "vibrant community" ISN'T near Ground Zero. They will have to be bused in to attend.
Seven hundred thousand Muslims live in New York City's five boroughs, including 10,000 in lower Manhattan, where there are 87 Muslim organizations and businesses.
So what? That doesn't make it alright for them to build a mosque where parts of
Attah's plane crashed through the roof.
It isn't about "religious bigotry" (coming from you the charge is hilarious) it's about propriety and what is the right thing to do. Not all Muslims are evil, but those who were the cause of 9-11 were in fact Muslim. Ground Zero is hallowed ground because of their victims. For Rauf to insist on building a mosque in place of one of the building surrounding GZ that was also hit is a poke in the eye for the survivors and the families of those who died.

Of course, we can listen to unhinged religious bigotry like this jerk:
You would know unhinged religious bigotry since you exhibit it on a daily basis, but you mis-apply it here.
