Replying to a message of Ross Sauer to All:
And the Palin phanbois wonder why Sarah Palin is called a
ditz?
Sarah Palin was on the O'Reilly Factor last night talking
about the National Day of Prayer, but she went a bit
further than her usual party line of calling America a
Christian nation. "I think we should keep this clean, keep
it simple, go back to what our founders and our founding
documents meant," she said. "They're quite clear that we
would create law based on the God of the Bible and the 10
commandments, it's pretty simple."
:eyeroll:
I just finished reading "Miracle at Philadelphia," a record of how
the Constitution was written and by whom; day by day. In short,
she's full of sh*t.
Little known factoid - Rhode Island boycotted the convention.
Another little known factoid - several of the delegates quit in
protest over the way things were going and went home, including
most of the New York delegation.
A third factoid - the delegates were *NOT* unanimous in voting out
the finished product and several of them refused to sign it.
Note also that Pennsylvania's ratification of the document was done
illegally, they couldn't get a quorum of delegates because the anti-Constitution delegates had departed (they wanted to wait until
after the impending election before voting on the ratification); two of
the anti-Constituionalists were quite literally kidnapped, dragged into
the chamber (giving the required quorum) and forced into their seats.
