Do you have any idea how much of a disaster that would be
for the state? The loss of a major transportation artery
would be really really bad.
Only for the truck stops, and there aren't all that many of
those. Omaha, Lincoln, York, Grand Island and North Platte.
Most westbound truckers hit the truck stops in Council
Bluffs rather than Omaha, fuel is noticeably cheaper in
Iowa (gasoline at the convenience store in Malvern, IA, is
about 10 cents/gallon cheaper than gasoline at Offutt
AFB's *on-base* station).
There *are* other roads for those needing them.
If they were good enough that would be one thing. If not...
