Does someone need to remind you that owning fully automatic weapons in
this country is perfectly legal as long as they are registered and
    taxes paid on them.

Making any bets as to whether those Hutaree geeks paid their taxes and registered their machine guns, John?

    Nope

They gonna be the guests of the Feds for a looooooong time - I hope.

Any group stupid enough to draw that much attention to themselves is certainly not a threat. They couldn't be led by anyone with very much intelligence. I'm just reminding everyone that it is illegal to own
fully automatic weapons in this country.

It's legal if you pay a very stiff tax on them.

    Fact.

There's plenty of video shot by themselves out there showing them
    practicing
    with fully automatic weapons.

    Big If.

However, irrelevant. The question was not the crime, but the
federal angle. Using Automatic weapons in a crime does bring in
    the Feds.

And conspiracy to commit murder is a crime, and interstate
    conspiracy is a federal crime.

AS would building pipe bombs in your basement as part of
    such a conspiracy.

INdeed, and even if the conspiracy doesn't go interstate,
building said pipe bombs in your basement nets you the
attention of the fine folks at ATF.

But then, so potentially could the act of crossing a state
line to buy fireworks for the fourth of july because they're not permitted where you live. USEd to do that all the time
when I was a young man living in Iowa, we'd get a pool of
money together, and a car load of us, go down to MIssouri to buy things that go
    bang for the fourth.

This from the guy who lost one of the best regular gigs I
had one summer by helping the marina owner's son build a
    potato launcher.

That was a typo on my part, I meant to say that it was legal. I did say that earlier.

I doubt anyone would disagree with that.

It is illegal insofar as they can be owned and possessed if they are registered. Owning fully automatic weapons without them being registered is what is illegal. I think some sort of license is required, also.

It's the amount of material between the ears of the shooters that is in RS>serious question here.

I'd be careful here if I were you. Aren't you the one who once stated you
owned four guns? And almost in the same message packet told someone you had a mental illness? I'll save you the trouble of looking it up; you are!

You are aware that it is unlawful for someone with a mental illness to own firearms, aren't you?

When you were diagnosed with your `mental illness'....did you turn your four guns in? Or do you still have them in your possession?

Or did you buy them `after' you were diagnosed? In which case, on the declaration statement of purchaser, where it covers mental illness, you would have had to ckeck the *NO* box. Which means you falsified the statement declaration (a federal crime, by the way).

Either way.....you're in violation of federal laws.

I mean, on of those Hutaree ditwits shot and killed his cat just so he RS>could prove to himself he could shoot something he loved. :eyeroll:

Well.....one of `your' friends once shot an alarm clock, totally careless of where the bullet would fly afterward! It could have hit someone walking by on the street on their way to work that hour of the morning and killed them!

You are quick to raise a lynch mob without benefit of evidence or trial. Yet, you ignore your own lawlessness, and that of your friend who endangered others by wildly firing at an alarm clock, thereby endangering innocent people.

Feet of clay, Otto.......you have feet of clay!
