From DAVE DRUM@1:123/140 to WAYNE CHIRNSIDE on Sat Dec 26 06:44:12 2009
I posted this originally on FidoTel ... but, for whatever reason(s) it did
not make it to Doc's - although I did see it on Holodeck. So, since I think this is the only board that you read - I'm reposting it from on-line.

    Harry Seldon?
It's THREE books IIRC but that was back in Jr. High.

Foundation, Foundation and Empire and one other I believe

The original series was a collection of eight short stories written
    for
ASTOUNDING magazine between 1942 and 1950. The first four and a new "prequel" story were published as "Foundation". The remaining stories
were published in pairs as "Foundation and Empire" and "Second Foundation".

Hey thanks for the comprehensive reply.

When I was a kid (8 years old) Ike's "Pebble In The Sky" set in the
    Foundation
"universe" (but much earlier) was the second novel I read ... after Admiral Bob's "Rocket Ship Galileo". I've been a reader of speculative fiction from
    the
    start. Bv)=

    ENJOY!!!

YEp, second foundation. There were later ones too,
"foundation's edge" and another whose title I can't recalll
but your local library should have 'em. REad those too.
Foundation's edge and the later meld the robots series'
CAves of steel with the foundation books, i.e. Daneel Olivaw and another robot,
and postulate the zero law which trumps
the three laws of robotics we all remember who read that
stuff. I.e. a robot must take action to keep humanity from
coming to harm, even if human beings would be harmed. OTher title isn't coming
to me, but again, your local librarian
    should be able to help.
THey were as good as the original three of the foundation
    series imho.

    Richard
