    Hello WAYNE!

05 Feb 10 21:28, you wrote to me:

No Wayne, MOST people, especially critical thinkers, _DO_ seek treatment for a stroke.

What might be more accurate for you to say is that _MOST_ people do not do the things or seek treatment to _prevent_ one.

In the case of an acquaintance his family forced him to go to a
    hospital.

    Net results?
    Ziltch.

It depends on how long one waits, assuming they realized it was a stroke, there
is a 2 to 4 hour window, assuming the stroke is a blockage, not a bleeder (Aneurysm).

Even so, if one survives a stroke, a lifestyle change is needed in form or diet, exercise and meds.

You didnt even go to a clinic.

He's still messed up and still lacks the use of an arm.

    He waited too long.

My father has no real use of his arm, he waited too long, my brother who found him on the floor next to his bed, failed to recognize the stroke signs, sagging
facial muscles, slurred speech. My father whom at the time had 2 artificial hips, assumed he fell on the floor while getting out of bed due to one of his hips having cramping issues. Instead he fell out of bed because he had no sensory control in his left left. When I came onto the scene, I immediately saw
the signs and called 9-11, a bigger symptom was when I pinched the soft flesh underneath my fathers left thigh and he asked me when I was going to start pinching.

They were unable to reverse the damage that was done because of the delay in getting help, but after physical therapy, exercise regimen implemented, diet changed and meds, he is better off now than he was then. He can walk with a cane and drive a car as well as mount a exercise bike.

Had he not done the above he would have had another stroke and likely be dead. He lost his brother to a aneurysm 15 years prior to his own stroke.

He does however have a rather extensive list of medical bills and
debts resulting from said useless hospitalization.

I have no such bills or debts and recovered nicely thank you.

Assuming that you really had a stroke, you do not know if you recovered, once a
    stroker always a stroker.

You are in the system Wayne, you can get medical treatment under Medicare or whatever and if Ross Sauer whom draws far less "unearned" benefits than you, can get a coronary bypass operation paid for, you can have a Doctor examine you.

Instead I think you tell people you have this ailment and that ailment only to curry sympathy.

It was real easy for you to say you had the swine flu.

This of course hits me particularly hard as I myself am maimed.

    Via your own actions.

    Prove it.

You can no more prove I did as you claim, read diversion, than you can prove that you had a stroke.

Other than you who said you did it?

I said, "someone fraudulently posted in my name from the Eastern Star BBS."

    You just claimed it.

And, on the original topic of this thread, sans the usual
    schoolyard bs ...

A few months ago At&T along with some other isps ceased
operating nntp servers. Have been accessing usenet through
another site, can get groups I've requested via that route,
but every once in awhile I like to just have a look in on
another group for a day or two. So, I like a full featured
nntp feed using a regular newsreader client.

IN one of these newsgroups got a recommendation for
albasani.net, so did a bit of research, no web here, on how
to get access since I was told just an email to those folks
    would get me plugged in.

SO, I sent an email as prescribed thanks to a friend doing
the point and click for me, no response for 72 hours. SEnt
a message to postmaster at that address.

Seems at&T filters mail to/from the address for folks to get access, but of course doesn't filter mail to "postmaster" at that address.

SO, admin sees my msg to postmaster, admits that at&T
filters mail to/from them, provides me my password, with
email address as username of course.

So far I"m getting the usenet feed.

There's net un neutrality for ya.

    Regards,
    Richard
