I have a text file describing the entire Fidonet configuration, incl. Netmail, for PCBoard. In uncompressed state it's 44+Kb.
Have a nice day,

I still have the original PCBoard documentation (PCBoard and the PPLC manuals).

Could you send me that file? You can email it:
rdfigueroa@gmail.com
I can send and receive netmail and receive net echo mail, but for
some reason I am not getting my replies out from the echo.
But PLEASE DO NOT REPLY to the system through which I send it.
*********************************
You got it. Only trouble I am having is that echo mail does not go out like when I respond to a message for instance in PCBoard echo, never see it hit the boards.
Do you have your echos/conferences set up properly, and set to Fido?
Are you using the built in Fido mailer, or something else? Intermail
does PCB natively.
In conferences all are set to 5 which means it is a FIDO conference. I have also added my uplink as a fido user. Don't have Intermail and I don't want one that can't be registered. If it can be registered I'll get it.
I am using IRex and I told pcb that fido is active and can send mail, but I have the dialout function set to not dial out and no modem is selected as this is a telnet only board.
Yes I used Rex until very recently myself. My Intermail (like Front
Door - pretty much the same base code) is registered, but I stopped
using it because I wanted a 32 bit front end so that POTS calls could be treated like Telnet calls. Thus I am using Taurus for incoming POTS calls. At the time, PCB stopped being developped due to Clark Dev.
going bankrupt, any further web based development disappeared, including thoughts of telnet. There was a means, but it cost a bunch of money at the time. I believe that option is still available, but not sure if it cost money any more. --- SBBSecho 2.27-Win32

Thanks that would be helpful to compare to how I have mine setup. I
got netmail working and was able to send netmail to the uplink and
am getting fidonet echo. But I am not sure I have evrything correct.
Where would I get that from?
Well I am using Net2BBS and NetFoss. I have a couple of doors running and will add more. The only thing lacking is PCB does not support door32.sys. I have a door that uses it and it is handy but not critical.
Do you know if Intermail is still available for registration? I had PCB running as a dial up for about 3 yrs before Clark went bankrupt and ran it for I think for another two years before I bought Santronics WInServer, which is still in use. I got that in 2000/1 and it is still running.
I just wish I could get echo msgs going out with PCBoard. Like I said no trouble getting it in.
Well if You think of anything please let me know.
It may be possible. Just not from the oringial author. He sold it. Right now I dont remember who purchased the code. He never did anything with it.
I just wish I could get echo msgs going out with PCBoard. Like I said no trouble getting it in.The built in fido tosser should extract the mail packets. Irex should be able to do the mailing using binkd. It will do either binkley (BSO) style or arc attach style like PCB uses. Unless you have more then two downlinks, it is free.
Well if You think of anything please let me know.

I have a registered version of IRex. I got PCB to send out echo mail. This message should have tag line from this bbs.
It it keeps working I won't have to worry about any changes to the mail system like getting Intermail, etc.
Do you have any more information on the web developed portion Clark Dev was working on? Availability or where?
Any questions??
First, get a mail-/QWK-reader. MultiMail is a FREE and decent QWK reader available for most operating systems. Instead of the built-in editor I would recommend the old Windows "EDIT.COM" or the "The Semware Editor" (TSE4JR.ZIP), formerly QEdit, though not free and I think awailable also for Windows.
Then create a directory for the incoming/outgoing mail.
Then, by issuing the command "qw d" at a PCB command promt from SYSOP-.., download a QWK packet that will contain messages from the areas you have subscribed to. PCB will ask where to put the downloaded mail packet.
You must get your mail-/QWK-reader to pull in the messages from the QWK- packet you have downloaded. That is specified in the setup of the mail program.
Your reply or originating messages will be packed into a QWK packet to the same directory as the received mail.
Then, when finished, go to a PCB command prompt from SYSOP-.. and issue the command, "qw u". PCB will ask for the directory of the packet and will then import it for further distribution to your host.
Next time you pull in a qwk packet from you host, you will also receive copies of your sent messages.
Any questions??
I love the Semware editors. I also use QEdit/2 in OS/2 but I have added some features to TSE v.1.

I still use Qedit 3.0; back in the Windows 2000 days the OS/2
version ran really well in a W2K Command Prompt window. Now, the DOS version runs well enough with enough horsepower.

Hmm, well I've got echomail set up on my PCBoard BBS at
os2bbs.rivernet.us. Netmail, too, using PCboard's internal Fido
routines.
