    Good morning Mark,

I don't understand that unless you mean Telnet directly off the Net

one can use a telnet ""server"" frontend that answers the calls and
passes them to comport expecting software... some folks call them
shims... others see them for what they are... virtual modems... no
fossil required... they've been around since before win95 appeared
    in the wild ;)

Oh yes, you reminded me of that the SIO package does indeed contain such
a virtual modem. I don't know if the SIO package can be used for other operating systems but I do use it with OS/2.

    Very nice utility.

    Regards,

    Holger

    GM Joe,

I use MTel daily Holger. PCB will not answer Telnet calls, without
a go between. It is possible to do so, but I no longer remember the
name of the program used. At the time I quit with PCB it was too
expensive for me, but I believe it is either free now, or cheap
    enough.

Yes, Mark just reminded me that the SIO package contains a virtual modem
to use for this purpose. I had completely forgotten about it but recall
having read about it in the doc's.

However, I don't know if SIO can be used with other operating systems
since I'm using it under OS/2. Have to re-read the docs myself, hi.
