Yes, I use it.
I don't think it is possible to list two source addresses (for instance) because of the associated netmask. There would need to be parallel values for each. You can always give it a try, but I don't think so. Just make two nearly identical rules.
To filter all but a specific range, what you do is to add a rule before your filter directing the packets you want to be unfiltered around the filter.
