What to do if there is a problem with config.sys?

How does one correct a problem with the config.sys file if OS/2 won't boot? This was always a problem when I worked on OS/2 years ago. Now I find I have to get back using it for a project.

Boot from installation media 8E:G: CD, floppy).
run chkdsk from there if the disk is not accessible.

or simpy try to press ALT+F2 when in early boot phase the blop in the
upper left corner shows up.

In eCS you may simply press Alt+F4 when the boot blop shows up in the
early boot stage to get asked for to get asked for allowance to get each driver installed or not.

As Herbert says, boot from the installation CD. Select the option for a maintenance console, and then type in 'edit x:\config.sys' (or use tedit if that doesn't work) where x is the normal boot drive.
