I've tried FF 6.0 on two sites, and it crashes on both: se.yahoo.com, and yr.no.
This happens with all versions, at least since FF v.3.013. Why?

    I'm running eCom Station 1.2.

Do either of you use the Flash 10 driver? I don't right now, and with Firefox 6
on eCS 2.1, I see very few sites go down. I
wonder what else in each system makes such a difference in FIrefox's behavior. Video cards? AMount of memory?

Versions of FF after 3 are much better at multithreading. This can expose existing problems
for multiprocessor systems. The new patched tcpip32.dll fixes most of the multiprocessor
problems (at least the internet related ones) and makes FF much more stable on mulitprocessor systems. You should definitely be using the patched tcpip32.dll. It makes a
    huge difference.

    David

From the VOICE news mailing list:

Steve Levine has released a patched version of tcpip32.dll that should
prevent the crashes many people have when using the Mozilla apps. The
patched dll and documentation is available from:

    http://e-vertise.com/misc/tcpip32-safe.zip

The patch is intended to make this dll multi-thread and SMP safe. It
adds no new code; it simply redirects calls made to unsafe routines
and routes them to safe versions that were already present in the dll.

The patched dll is recommended for those using SMP systems but can be
used with any machine. It is based on the version of tcpip32.dll that
is included with eCS 2.x (2004-05-21 11:15 98,611). It may be com-
patible with earlier versions of this dll but that has not been tested.

I notice a similar behaviour of Seamonkey since 2.1. Downloading a file
works the first time after program start, but when I try to download
another file later on, it always crashes. At least it saves the site information and restores the session after program restart.
I am running eCS 1.2R and have installed the patched TCPIP32.DLL, but no effect.
