• usr local lib for VLC app question

From "conixks1"@1:3634/1000 to All on Sun Feb 20 17:40:12 2011

    Everyone,

VLC 1.1.5 states that usr/local/lib needs to be in the libpath.

I don't have a usr directory anywhere. Is the intention that this directory hold the kLib and Qt required DLLs? And as such, I simply need those DLLs in the libpath somewhere?

If not, what is that usr/local/lib directory? What creates it? What goes in it?

    thanks,
    Mark

I suggest you get the newest version 1.17 from Hobbes.nmsu.edu. It will
    do a complete install.

    Hi,

after opening the VLC zip file there is a subtree \usr\ in the VLC root directory. I've appended <drive...>\usr\local\lib to the LIBPATH in CONFIG.SYS. It works.

    Cheers/2

Thanks for the 1.1.7 suggestion. It works much better.

    Thanks,
