• Re: [OS2HW] USB to Ethernet

    From stevew@shocking.com@1:3634/1000 to All on Mon Oct 19 16:00:10 2009

    One problem - no nic, modem only. All I presently have is an ADMtek Pegasus USB to Ethernet. I can't find a specific driver for it for Warp after much googling so I'm asking if anyone here or anyone you know
    might have an idea if this is even possible.

    IBM did release a USB Ethernet driver, but I have no experience it, and no
    idea what devices it supports.

    1. The USB Ethernet adapter support software consists of the following
    files:
    - USBETHR.OS2 NDIS compliant network adapter driver.
    - USBETHR.NIF Network adapter configuration file
    - README.TXT This file that you are reading
    Copy these files to the hard disk or floppy disk.
    2. open MPTS - Network Adapters and Protocol Services (click right mouse button on desktop, select 'System setup' menu, double click on MPTS icon in System Setup window);
    3. press 'Configure' button;
    4. select 'LAN adapter and protocols'; and press 'Configure' button;
    5. press 'Other adapters' button; fill out path to USB Ethernet adapter
    driver files (use default path A: if support files are copied to floppy
    disk in drive A:) and press OK;
    6. update vendor/device IDs card parameters dialog; use the following
    identification IDs: +-----------------------------------------------------+---------+---------+
    | Adapter |Vendor ID|Device ID| +-----------------------------------------------------+---------+---------+ |3COM USB Network Interface (3C19250) * | 0506 | 03E8 | |D-Link Corp. USB Ethernet Adapter (DSB-650) | 2001 | 4000 | |ADS Technologies Inc. USB Ethernet Adapter (USB-10BT)| 06E1 | 0008 | +-----------------------------------------------------+---------+---------+ *Default adapter

    7. Add required protocols from the 'Protocols' list to the USB Ethernet
    adpater;
    8. Press 'OK' button to close 'Adapter and Protocol Configuration' dialog;
    9. Press 'Close' button to close 'Configure' dialog;
    9. Press 'Exit' button to close MPTS utility;
    10. Reboot the operating system.
