I have recently installed ECS2 onto a new computer. The motherboard in
use is a Gigaybyte G41M-ES2H (and an Intel E6550 dual core cpu) and ECS 2
with ACPI enabled installed nicely onto this computer picking up the
onboard sound, network and sound card. All appears well except for a
minor but very annoying mouse issue.
The mouse does work, but when moving in small increments it is very slow
and jerky. Moving quickly it accelerates nicely and works just fine, but
it is incredibly annoying to move the mouse slowly and then have the
cursor suddenly jerk and overshoot my destination.
The mouse is an optical USB Logitech two button with mouse wheel and
Amouse correctly identifies the mouse. The mouse is plugged into a USB
KVM switch and I initially thought that might be the problem and sol I
plugged the mouse directly into the motherboard and the symptom remained
the same. I have tried a different mouse (Microsoft USB mouse) and the
symptom remains identical. So, it appears it is not the mouse itself. I
have a Windows XP computer also plugged into the KVM switch and the same
mouse works perfectly with it.
So, what might be causing the jerky movement of the mouse in ECS2? I have tried increasing and decreasing the acceleration and tracking speeds in
the Amouse configuration but it has absolutley no effect on the issue of
very slow and jerky movements when mousing slowly.
If anyone has any ideas as to why this is happening, or even better, how
to fix it I would be mighty appreciative.
Many thanks,
      Dave.
