I upgraded my computers this weekend which run my BBS, web, mail, file
share and FTP servers. Some of this software is pretty old (i.e. OS/2
Warp 3, Windows 2000 and an older version of Slackware). I was getting concerned about being able to maintain all of the different hardware. I
built a new server based upon a AMD {Phenom II X6 chip, 8G of memory and Windows 2008 R2 server running VMware Workstation. Under it I am
running 3 VMs and now I don't have to worry about hardware support. It
took a bit to get OS/2 running but all is well now. Now I just have to upgrade my personal workstation from XP Pro (just upgraded from Windows
2000 early last year) to Windows 7.
