R17C has successfully submitted a segment with -Unpublished- in the RIN section
of his segment.

I've posted a note to the other ZCs that Zone 1 is ready,

Just waiting for the other ZCs to acknowlege that message in ZCC before turning
on ALLOwunpub over here, then I'll have all Z1 RCs make the change permanent.

Therefor it is not Z1 waiting for the other zones, but the other zones waiting for Z1.

Due to my imminent departure for a few days I'd like to get my colleague-ZCs to
ACK in the ZCC-echo.

What do we do if Z4 does not ACK ... as I will expect?

to get the ball rolling?

My point is that Z4 is a lost cause ... and that is a statement.

You are saying nothing new, Ward.. The World knew that Zone 1 was waiting for two RCs to update. What I am referring to in my post is just what I said:

So, what you're saying about Z4 is hearsay and we can never believe
anything you say because of it.

In that case, there shouldn't be a problem in implementing the unpublished
BS that has held up this feature for over a year, maybe more?

Ack or no ack, there is no need for the other ZCs to be concerned about
waiting for Z4 to be ready. If Z4 is not there, then there is no reason to
wait any longer. If ZC4 falls behind, so be it. It's a small zone anyway,
so it shouldn't take them another year to catch up when they wake up.

I've been ready for a year now, I've crashed my RC's node because his OS
can't take the heat and I'm tired of waiting. YMMV

I'm leaving from this location in less than 7 hours, that includes a short night's sleep and as I don't see any other ACK and we all seem to better move together, I'm afraid I will not be able to look into this anymore before Monday
noon at the earliest.
