I'm trying to figure out how to connect my grandstream ht701 to
Ubuntu. Wondering if anyone has any experience with them? I'm trying
to add dial-up to my BBS Regards, KrUpTiOn
VOIP and V.90/90/34 etc. modedms are NOT going to work, reliably or at all.
known as T.38... Its not the same signalling over "SIP line" as a POTS line If you want dial up you will need a POTS line and modem or ISDN BRI if you can still get it.. most have have cut it off, unless you had it already.
I'm giving up on the grandstream. I DO know a few Sysops/users using Magic Jack for in and outbound modem transmission.

Do they have good luck with it?
I like the idea Nick Andre is doing. He has a AHOI VOIP (think that's how it's >spelled) gonna use that with the Magic Jack, w/ google voice. Think that's the
route I'm gona go too
I would assume that using VOIP for modem calls would be the same
except I would need to hook a modem to my Magic Jack instead of a
phone.
Maybe I do not understand what AHOI is but, if you use all three of those aren't you going to have *three* VOIP carriers where you only need one?
