I'm around. However, I run nothing Ubuntu, nor after the whole Mir issue I, personally, don't like to even so much as think nor support Ubuntu, specifically.....

    But, I'm here! :D

I primarily run CentOS and Fedora myself. My BBS all runs under CentOS 7.1. ;)

Yeah, I prefer CentOS for anything server related myself. Unfortunately, my boss LOVES Ubuntu server and therefore set up our monitoring system, naemon, using it. Personally, I don't think Ubuntu _ANYTHING_ should be used to run a production server -- too bleeding edge for my tastes.

Heh. Yeah. I worked for a company that used Ubuntu... And they're still using Ubuntu 10.04 to this very day, because they simply... Yeah...

Ubuntu's not overall bad, but my beef with them is mostly over their repeat annoyance with their stuff. Unity, for example. Originally "designed" for netbook use, yet was the /worst/ thing for a Netbook because it heavily used compositing, which.. most netbooks weren't that good at handling. Heh. And having that sidebar on both monitors, and adding resistence to the mouse when moving from one screen to the other was just silly..

And lastly, so far, Mir. Their ultimate slap in the face against the entire Linux community, and Wayland. Canonical originally touted to support Wayland, and were helping in development, however silently. Then one day, Canonical announces Mir, out of the blue, and absolute no support for Wayland. They broke promises and slapped people in the face with that, which is why companies officially denounced support for XMir very quickly.

Either way though, I need to back down a little, as this forum specifically is for Ubuntu, and I don't really wish to be the flamer of flamers about it. LOL. Though, I'm pondering if we should get a LINUX-CENTOS echo going. I'll moderate if anyone's interested. :)

That's what I run. ONLY the LTS versions. Plus I don't upgrade right away
to the latest LTS until it's been out for awhile.

    Thanks!
