Does anyone here build thier own guitar? I just tried my first. I have almost >no woodworking skills, but I got one together, oversanded in a few places, and >used a stain.
A friend of mine used to build his own. He was talented at building them and playing them. The first one he built, I used to call it a "Streetocaster" because his last name was Street. I think he was OK with that. He built a few others, IIRC some to sell and maybe some to keep.

The next one will be much better for sure.

It was the sanding and getting colors right for staining and such. I didn't realize how thin the maple skins are on these guitars.
