1:123/500 was disconnected somehow from some file echos..

seems that they were disconnected from a lot more... i found that many of the message echos i carry were no longer flowing so i sent in a blanket reconnect message to their areafix and had a bunch come back saying the area was not available but it is still listed in the backbone.na file release on the 23rd...

i've not written them a message yet to ask what happened but obviously a pretty

ugly something did... i guess maybe i should also send in a blanket allfix request to ensure that all the file areas i carry are still turned on, too :/

following up further... checking their dupes and bad messages stats, it seems to have happened back around the 18th of April... that's when the first bad message from my system showed up in their stats... i'm sending areafix and allfix (re)link posts for all the areas i have configured from them... will see

what flushes out over the next few days...

    Hello Janis!

Yeah.. In this case if I'd had a UPS box on my system in one of those outlets affected by the zap, I guess I'd at least have had the 30min.
or whatever it gives you to find that darned socket that tripped :)

In my case the 2200 gives me almost 2 hours more than enough for most power cuts and allows 90 mins before shutting the system down.

Hopefully I have noticed by then but we do get cuts after I go to bed after 02:00 but there is a gap of 7+ hours before I get up so ...

Heck, it is a service for which I do not get paid so if it is shutdown for 6+ hours, its a smaller electicity bill :)

I have a Cyberpower 685AVR, and I believe it gives around 30-45 minutes
after the power goes out. It's at least enough time to safely shut down the systems and reboot then when the power is back on.

Granted, most of the time when the power goes out, so does the internet. So I'm really not gaining anything except the fact that the computers didn't
just shut off with no warning.

Hopefully I have noticed by then but we do get cuts after I go to bed after 02:00 but there is a gap of 7+ hours before I get up so ...

Agreed. When that happens it happens. You can't do anything about it.
Though noone is going to come bang on your door when it does, either..

    Exactly. :)

    Nick
