So in fd from terminal I can get it to connect to my bbs over 24554 but of course from terminal fd is not identifying itself as my point and while it connects nothing really happens, in the vmodem screen it shows that this is happening. However still when the fd mailer tries to call my bbs the dial screen pops up things look alright, no errors and nothing is logged in the vmodem screen? Am I getting there?

FD doesn't communicate using the binkp protocol, so port 24554 is not going to work. It has to connect to other 'EMSI' protocol mailers,
not sure of the default port.
