"There is no heaven or afterlife for broken-down computers - that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark."
-- Stephen Hawking, renowned mathematician, theoretical physicist and cosmologist
So not only has Stephen Hawking claimed that the Universe was not created by God, but now he takes his blasphemy a step further by insisting that Heaven
is not real, and that there is no Afterlife of any kind either.
What a sad, sad man! While Hawking is highly regarded as one of the world's great geniuses, the truth of the matter is that he is an empty, spiritless
man who has been blinded by his own ego and pride.
As I have shared before, the Bible has a lot to say regarding the so-called "wisdom" of men, and the spiritual blindness which envelops those who reject the realities of the Spirit World. Consider the following:
"Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God
is stronger than men . . . But God hath chosen the foolish things of the
world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world
to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not,
to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence."
1 Corinthians 1:25, 27-29, KJV
"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
1 Corinthians 2:14, KJV
"For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness."
1 Corinthians 3:19, KJV
"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." Colossians 2:8, KJV
If Stephen Hawking really wants to be wise, then he needs to begin by humbly accepting God's existence, acknowledging his own pride and vanity, and forsaking all of that worldly knowledge which has filled his brain. True
wisdom comes not from reading many books, but rather from being in tune to God's Spirit. Consider the following verses:
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it
shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."
Matthew 7:7-8, KJV
"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
James 1:5, KJV
"For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word
of knowledge by the same Spirit;"
1 Corinthians 12:8, KJV
In conclusion, worldly wisdom is meaningless -- and in fact, dangerous -- if obtaining it results in our becoming lifted up in our pride, and alienated
from our Creator.
