Some people may argue "Why uphold Proposition 8 and the state constitutional ban against same-sex marriage in so many other states? People are going to
have gay and lesbian sex anyway."

Well, if that is your attitude, then please consider this:

Why pass laws making it illegal to drink under the age of 21? People under
that age are going to drink anyway.

Why pass laws which make certain drugs illegal? People are going to use
those drugs anyway.

Why pass laws against murder? People are going to murder anyway.

And on and on it goes.

If we are going to apply such faulty reasoning to one issue, then to be
fair, we need to apply it to all issues.

Any nation which does not impose laws which seek to refrain people from
doing harm -- physical, mental and emotional -- to themselves, as well as to others, and to maintain some semblance of order and cohesion, is soon going
to devolve into an anarchist state. Is that what we want? Obviously not.
Yet, as I point out in "When Sin Is No Longer A Sin", that is exactly where
we are currently headed with the same-sex "marriage" issue. A growing number
of people are committing anarchy against God's Laws, and He won't stand for
it forever. Eventually, He is going to lower the boom.

In fact, you may recall that the Apostle Paul refers to the soon-coming Antichrist in 2 Thessalonians 2 as the "man of sin" -- or the "lawless one"
-- because as I have explained before, the Apostle John tells us that sin is violating -- or transgressing or breaking -- God's Laws, as we see here:

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except
there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;"
2 Thessalonians 2:3, KJV

"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."
1 John 3:4, KJV

The Antichrist will have no regard for God's Laws, and the people who are fighting against Proposition 8 and similar anti-same-sex "marriage" laws,
are in fact embracing that very same ungodly, antichrist spirit.

Upholding Proposition 8 obviously will not prevent gays and lesbians from engaging in illicit, unholy sex in the privacy of their homes, but it will serve to uphold and protect what is nationally viewed as the norm; that is, heterosexual marriage.

Furthermore, it may result in God withholding His judgments against a wicked nation a bit longer, because He will see that there are still some people in the nation who want to do what is right.

Do you remember how Abraham pleaded with God to spare Sodom and Gomorrah, if the Lord found even ten righteous people in those wicked cities in Genesis 18:23-32? So, what we do -- or don't do -- does affect some of God's
decisions. Consider these verses:

"Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." Proverbs 14:34, KJV

"The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the
righteous."
Proverbs 15:29, KJV

"The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all
their troubles."
Psalm 34:17, KJV

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and
pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear
from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV

"Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me
the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God."
Isaiah 58:2, KJV

"But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him."
