• New Top Sites List For Ch

    Jeff...

There is a new top sites list which accepts Christian-oriented BBSes,
but your BBS must be absolutely commercial free and non-denominational.

Check it out at this URL:

Is there also a "content requirement", such as "G-rated only"?? I have several "Battle/RPG" doors, with mild language and violence, but noted with ANSI graphics and text...and no nudity. These are rated PG as a result.

I do have several Christian related doors and file areas online...with the stipulation that "users are not required to use them to stay online". I would prefer their accessing the Christian message areas, files, and doors to be of "their own free will and choice"...and what they do with the information is up to them.

While my BBS is dial-up only at the moment, I hope to add telnet sometime this fall.

    Daryl

Hello Daryl. Well, let me ask you this: Honestly speaking, considering the content of your BBS, which do you really believe that it honors more, the world, or the Lord? Your answer to that question alone will probably tell
you all that you need to know.

I have long believed that if we are going to be a witness for the Lord, then there is no room for compromise with the world. It is for this reason that
you will find absolutely no commercial ads for any products or services on
any of the websites, guestbooks, messageboards or BBSes that I have ever
run. I simply do not believe in mixing the spirit of the world with the
Spirit of God when preaching the Gospel.

This uncompromising position is clearly supported by the Scriptures, as you
can see by the following verses:

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot
    serve God and mammon."
    Matthew 6:24, KJV

"If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are
not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the
    world hateth you."
    John 15:19, KJV

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,"
    2 Corinthians 6:17, KJV

"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."
    Colossians 3:1-2, KJV

"No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that
he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier."
    2 Timothy 2:4, KJV

"Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the
world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world
    is the enemy of God."
    James 4:4, KJV

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man
love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of
life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."
    1 John 2:15-17, KJV

Concerning those RPG and violent games that you have on your BBS, consider
what the Apostle Paul had to say:

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are
honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
    Philippians 4:8, KJV

In conclusion, Daryl, what you do in your personal life is one thing; but
when you make yourself a public witness for the Lord, such as by running a website or a BBS, then you need to tow the line all the way, and do it with your whole heart as unto the Lord, without compromise.

That is how I personally feel about the situation; and in this regard, I try
to live what I preach. When folks visit our website, or my BBS, they realize pretty soon what it is about. There is no mistake that it is geared towards Bible-believing Christians. It is not about making money, or trying to con
them into buying a book, a DVD, a magazine subscription or anything else; it
is about preaching the Word of God only.

You might want to read some of my articles, such as "Money-Making Bible Hucksters And Mammon".
