megs per each, I wonder if it wouldn't be appropriate to
merge them into one dos area echo, covering everything to do
with dos.

The topic-specific echoes generally serve as a filter for interest
and expertise among the users, producing a better quality experience
for everyone involved. It can be fatiguing to work around the stuff
you don't care about when it is all consolidated into one stream,
and a lot of users will just avoid it rather than manage it.
