    Hello everybody!

Dogs can develop nasal cancer as a result of secondhand smoke. Not so cute.

That's interesting. I smoked for all 14 years of my German
    shepherd's
life and never she never had that problem, but because she was a
    large
breed dog, she was subject to hip dysplasia, which did develop. I
    quit
    smoking the year she died.

The carcinogens in second-hand smoke is just as real for any living
    animal.
Some may be affected, some not. Just like humans. I've known people who go to
sleep with a cigarette still lit and puffin away... they have no signs of it.
We all have cancer cells, it's what triggers them. Crap shoot.. :)

I suppose so. Some people are luckier than others.

like me who has been smoking for 40 years and has no sign of any cancerous mess
at all while others around me are falling like flys?

I smoked for 39 years and when I quit "cold turkey", I was up to an average of 2.5 packs per day. Running out of breath while bowling scared the you-know-what out of me. I had my lungs X-rayed the day after I quit and the doctor told me I was lucky there were no spots on my lungs and asked me to come
back in six months for another set of X-rays. I did and my lungs were clear. I considered that remarkable.
