Bob...
Gotta get him scheduled to be neutered and chipped next spring.
After the reddish brown dachshund that my late wife and I had (which had to be put down, because of becoming diabetic, resistant to the insulin, and then blind from glaucoma and cataracts), we got a new dachshund... black, tan, and silver dapple (who was rehomed the day my wife died nearly 3 years ago).
My late wife preferred male dogs, as while they do have a tendency to "mark their territory", it's cheaper to neuter them, than it is to spay the females.
But, the main point of this message is that when we took the dapple doxie in to a local boarding kennel (the wife and I were going out of town for a few days)...the vet tech asked "Are we neutered??" (meaning the dog)...to which my wife popped off with "No, but my husband is". The vet tech replied "Yeah, mine is too".
I did some serious blushing. <G>
On another note, the first one was named "Harvey's Fritz Kreisler", but his called name was "Fritz". My wife loved classical music, especially of violinist Fritz Kreisler...and Harvey was her maiden name. The second one was named "Stout's Slinky Sausage", but his called name was "Slinky".
