Second, based on what they posted here over the years,
they've not had an original thought worth discussing. They
have never done anything but spew what the Democrat party
puts out as talking points.
...
This was original, and you couldn't answer this:

Things I believe the US Government should do.
1: Bankruptcy
Repeal the bankruptcy law changes of the '90s that made it so
much harder to file bankruptcy. Go back to how it was before
than, then fine tune what may actually need fine tuning.
Eliminate all state laws giving property owners or creditors
exceptional rights above most states. IE: A multi-million dollay
mansion in Florida should not be exempt from seizuer in
bankruptcy.
2: Interstate contracts
Establish contract laws that eliminate states that are corporate
havens for abusive conduct. No more of Delaware or South Dakota
giving corporations a point from which to write contracts that
bind customers to rules that would never be tolerated in their
home states. Either contract by the laws of the state where you
do business, or write federal laws governing interstate
contracts, superceeding any such state laws.
3: Unfair Foreign competition
Establish import duties equal to foreign export subsidies, even
those which are tax rebates on VATs. Strictly enforce laws
against the import of products produced by forced labor or child
labor.
Tell the WTO to go to hell when they protest. Ok, give them a
reasonable explanation, once, then tell them to go to hell if
they continue.
4: Financial Regulation
Pass strict laws regulating interstate financial transactions,
or any transactions involving the Fed. Punish abuses by
financial institutions of any kind, including those not involved
in the stock markets or other federally regulated areas if their
dealings are interstate. Make the punishment criminal, and hold
those who sign off on the actions responsible and prosecute
them.
Essentially repeal the repeal of financial regulations.
5: Accountablilty and threats
Do not consider threat of loss of employment as a mitigating
factor of any degree in punishing those who sign off on the
abuses.
For that matter, do not consider threat of loss of employment a
mitigating factor in any crime.
6: Standards
Firmly regulate the standards by which business operates. A
coffee maker should not be allowed to call a cup of coffee 6oz
to claim their product makes more cups of coffee. A cup is 8oz.
Require employers to adhere to time standards, and time zones,
and not set their time to whatever is convenient. Yes, I have
seen this. It may only be a minute or two off, but it can be
annoying when you are looking at three clocks with different
times. I'll be tolerant of those companies that are tolerant of
other's on this.
Punish under criminal law any corporation that advertises or
sells by anything other than standard measures. A half gallon is
64oz, not 48oz. etc.
There is no such thing as a 'face cord' for firewood. You can
sell it by the cord, or the rick, or by weight for all I care,
but not invented measures that deceive more than inform.
Require retail pricing to be at actual coinage measures.
Gasoline may sell at $2.999/gal, but they don't bill you .7cents
when the amount comes out that way. Let them round off the
volume, but give the price in real denominations.
7: Vigilante groups
Tighten up drastically on the useage of military identifiers,
such as the word "militia". Any group that identifies itself as
a militia should be state approved, or find another name.
Militias have a long and honorable history, the name should not
be besmirched by nut cases running around a forest with guns.
8: Election abuses
The Federal government should investigate the real election
abuses. State employees interrogating voters on any basis other
than their right to vote. And that only on a basis of probable
cause or randomly distributed surveys.
Gerrymandering should be stopped as much as possible.
Elections where the results are clearly in dispute should be
investigated by the feds. The Florida 2000 vote should have been
investigated. In fact, it still should be. The Gucci Mob should
have been identified and prosecuted if found they violated any
laws.
The republican abuses of absentee ballots, never denied, should
be investigated.
8a: Statue of limitations
The statue of limitations on election crimes, or crimes in
office by elected or politically appointed officials, should be
repealed, or extended to maybe 20 years after he finally leaves
the office in question.
Yes, I chose 20 years so you can, if you can prove Clinton
committed a crime in office, send him to prison. OTOH, Bush will
probably get a free pass, cause I don't believe he was involved
in the crimes committed by his people, he was a puppet. OTOH,
Cheney and other Bush officials could be sent to prison, for
falsifying the intel that started a war, for blowing Valerie
Plame's cover, for perjury, etc.
