Is there any way you can grab the part where Telegram displays
the action that was taken and include it too?

OR.. simply DROP or ignore messages that are empty or that
    only have spaces?

Telegram produces an annoucement when we Add a new member and
when a member leaves the group - that works. But we get empty
messages like the above when something gets adjusted like an
    icon change.

I know you must have tonnes of other details to iron out and
this one is probably very minor.

Strictly speaking, they aren't empty messages in Telegram. But apparently they aren't interpreted as text either.

    Perhaps similar to Telegrams emoji's?

But how often do you anticipate changing the Telegram Group title or Photo?

It's likely not worth the effort.

True, there shouldn't be ongoing "empty" messages like that. Only the first few when even the description changes too. So, there are sofar 3 scenarios when that can happen:

    [1] icon change
    [2] name change
    [3] desc change

...which reminds me I need plop in the desc for WIFI.

Ideally, you would have that all complete prior to connecting the Telegram group to Fido.

That makes it sound like a Port-A-Potty.

I only really noticed the desc part and learned about icon
    changes later on.

At the very beginning, Stas just create the group as a bare
minimum. There was no icon or desc. When he made gave admin
status, I went to town to add the final touches.

Hmmm.. It would sound kinda creepy if spoken in a Cheeseburger
    sort of way.

BTW.. it seems that changing the desc does *not* trigger a
    network announcement.

Of course, there's a learning curve. But now, going forward, you know about these things.

Me, I'm more a function over form type. I'll make something, and it will work, but it might not be pretty.

I feel like the technology curmudgeon sometimes, but what keeps me
coming back to Fidonet technology is the ability to have threaded,
    intelligent, thought provoking long-form discussions.

Just for grins, I copied this post to a file, then opened up the URL
in a web browser, and saw a screen shot of a meme.

If that's the experience I'm looking for, I can get that elsewhere -
and this by no stretch of the imagination enriches the Fidonet
experience for those of us on the other side.
