    Hi everyone,

My parents went and bought Felix some liquid dewormer. It's been around
three weeks and it looks like the medicine worked. A lot of Felix's hair
has grown back (didn't know worms could cause that, but it makes sense) and he's not itching himself like he was, but he's going to need to see a vet
soon. I'm hoping to get him in within a month or two's time. Still waiting
to get my first paycheck from my new job. :)

Good to hear that your feline friend is doing better and congratulations on the new job. Really exciting eh? :)

    What breed is your cat?

    Cheers,

    Bryan

Yes, Felix is doing much better and he's up to his old tricks. The job's
going well although I found out that I'll be working the next two weeks at night (overtime for me).

    What breed is your cat?

Felix is an orange tabby. He's a very sweet and intelligent (sometimes too much so for his own good) cat. I've had him since mid 2008 which makes him somewhere around seven years old. I don't know his exact birthdate.

That must feel great, I'm glad to hear that. We had one sick kitty once that couldn't be helped, and it was really hard to watch him get so sick without a way to help (the vet thought he had some kind of feline aids but I'd never heard of such a thing before to be honest!). We had to have him put to sleep eventually since he was getting so bad as you can probably imagine. Poor kitty
was purring to the end while I held him, too. That was roughest of all. Anyway, I'm really glad Felix is responding to the treatment and I hope all continues to go well.

That's a lot of work but hopefully it will pay off by the time you're done :)

That's neat, I can picture him now <grin>. Leo was a yellow tabby but long hair. He didn't have the brains Felix seems to have though <grin>. He ran away one day and I just have a feeling someone nabbed him because he was such a
    beautiful cat.

Best of luck on your new job!

    Take care,
    Janis

Yeah, there is such a thing. It's called feline immunodeficiency virus
(FIV). It is contageous, however, there are vaccines for it that work well
in cats. Your kitty was probably purring because he knew what was going to happen and was at ease with it. At least he is no longer suffering.

Now I need to get Felix to lose weight. I am worried that he will develop diabetes and that is bad enough in a human. It's heartbreaking in an
animal. I have cut down his food a lot, but with only 13' of walkable space where he lives now, not much he can do for exercise. I hope that will
    change soon.

That's a lot of work but hopefully it will pay off by the time you're

    It will.

Yeah, that happens. Felix has no desire to go outside. It's warm inside
and he knows where the food bowl is. ;)

Best of luck on your new job!

    Thanks! So far, so good.
