This morning I slept quite late... Sophie heard me telling Indy to get off the bed, and Sophie literally came "hopping" with joy into the bedroom at hearing that I was awake... I thought I'd die laughing :) I don't often see a dog "jump for joy" hahaha

She of course then slobbered me with dog kisses :)

    Take care,
    Janis

That's neat - our fence is the chain-link type - they can see everything, race to the dog door and meet us inside.

She of course then slobbered me with dog kisses :)

Mine has been taught "No kisses"...

Mine may be a bit spoiled... :)

Missy can see through the gaps between the cedar fencing, but prefers the
birds eye view for some reason. She often jumps on the fence and gains a
    quick view while bouncing backwards.

Could be. Missy is too, and doesn't allow her masters to order her around
much. She sometimes forgets or is too excited to remember no kisses. When
our friend Andru brings his three 'ankle biters' over for a romp on the playground, she gets too far out of hand and forgets that 'walking' in the house is the norm, while jumping up and down with excitement over seeing
    her 'pals' is for outside...

hahaha... very happy pooch then <g> Years ago we had Chow Chow (chinese 'war' dog) and she was so stubborn and serious, you couldn't really order her around much. She would never have slobbered one's face with kisses. It was just not in
her nature.. she was incredibly good natured and cuddly though for the breed. I'd read that breeders had begun breeding different, better traits into the breed when judges were bitten at some of the big dog shows. Luckily we got one
that was from a good breeder that considered that kind of thing. By the time she died though, we had a few grandboys and decided to get Labrador Retrievers since we didn't feel comfortable getting another Chow that might not be as nice
as the first one we had, since we'd moved to another state.

Our three (we have two yellow lab-mix youngters who are about 3 1/2 now) and 1 older black lab (about 13 now) are funny to watch when they get into the challenge and play mode... especially the younger two. Toby, the old guy just watches them sometimes with an expression of "I knew it would be a silly idea to adopt these two fools"... then he grabs the toy(s) they are playing with and
runs upstairs, settling the issue. :)

She is and always has been. Even when she was attacked by a Golden
Retriever for eating his dinner. She had to have surgery on the lower lid
of her right eye and recovered completely from that. However, she doesn't
like big dogs sniffing around and will only put up with it for a few
seconds before she reaches out and touches them; with her big, white wolf fangs.

She of course then slobbered me with dog kisses :)

Oh, she will take orders because she is well trained and disciplined for behavior. However, when she sets her mind of something, nothing will sway
    her from doing it.

My son had a Chow when he lived in San Diego. Fortunately, he moved to
Denver and took his Chow with him. I always felt sorry for it because it
was constantly panting and seemed never to get any relief from the warm
    weather there.
