I successfully set up Blue Wave for Maximus, however, it's
suffering from the Y2K bug. I do have some sort of fix for
it (Dale, I think it's your utility you wrote). Where do I
put this fix in at in the packet creation process?

My fix was a bandaid designed for fixing the REP (reply to QWK) packet
for the Bluewave user reader. I never tried doing anything for the
BLUEWAVE door on Maximus. Perhaps some others did -- check the WIKI
article on BlueWave to see if there is any recent discussion there.

In fact, my fix is obsolete now that Richard Backus has supplied a true
patch for the reader. If that is not described in the WIKI, then
perhaps you might ask him (through Nancy).

    Hi Dale,

perhaps you might ask him (through Nancy).

Nancy reported to me tonight that she didn't see any Y2K issues though I saw a netmail with a year of "118" that I'd pulled down through the BW/Max door. If that's all there is for the problem, I'll just leave it. No use in going berserk over it if Nancy gives it her stamp of approval.

I ususally read my mail online through the BBS or a sysop mail reader (I have GoldEd, timEd, and FleetStreet installed on the BBS machine) though pulling down an occasional packet for perusal while on lunch at work isn't out of the question.

    Thanks for answering me. :)

    Later,
    Sean

I prefer a sysop reader, my problem is when I'm in the woods I have no
afforable internet so I tried a year with a point package and that worked
perfectly UNTIL I came home and left the laptop at the trailer. That's
why I switched back to BW year round.

This year as I'm living in the trailer for the season I may try my point
package again. Or I may not. <G>

I loved Sempoint. It was a point system that I could use nicely with Squish and still hatch out Cheepware stuff (!). Now I'm wandering off-topic. :D

I did discover I installed BW 3.11 instead of BW 3.20. I'm going to try to upgrade this weekend and see if that makes a difference.
