• Setting up Y2K fix for BW door

I successfully set up Blue Wave for Maximus, however, it's suffering
from the Y2K bug. I do have some sort of fix for it (Dale, I think
it's your utility you wrote). Where do I put this fix in at in the
    packet creation process?

If you can't figure it out let me know. I have my desktop computer
setup again and as far as I know still have the VM that run maximus
    in a bootable state.

I remember something about writing mecca scripts to upload packets outside
of the door and then process them in the background but I don't remember
why I had to do that.

... Wow! Look at the _size_ of that... Briefcase.

    Hello, Shawn!

Replying to a message of Shawn Highfield to Sean Dennis:

don't remember why I had to do that.

The door itself is working just fine when it comes to packets transferring back
and forth. I noticed, however, that netmails that I receive through the BW door have the year of "118" on them. It's only netmail though; for some odd reason echomail isn't affected and that doesn't make any sense to me.

Thanks for the offer of help. Might have to take you up on it. :)

    Later,
    Sean

I may have had that issue to and just left it alone or stopped sending
    netmail. ;)

Anytime just give me the nod and I'll fire it up (or attempt to)

    Hi Nancy,

Is this on the messages themselves or is it the packet manager of the reader...? My fixed version of the reader shows the date of the packet with the year as 118 (a packet there from 2001 shows up as 101)... that
    is as it should be...

I saw the date when reading the message in Multimail, so if you say that's what
it's supposed to be, then it's working. Once I get a chance to set up 3.20, I'll apply Richard's fix to it.

But at least it's working so far! I'm really happy I was able to figure out how to get that working.

As I think I said in the bbs Living Room area, Richard thinks he fixed that one already for you... :) It would be included in the zip file
    with all the fix... ;)

But at least it's working so far! I'm really happy I was able to figure out how to get that working.

I also have the bbs software available on the bbs. Can you please tell me
    where I get that patch?

    Thanks

Mark Lewis has a fairly complete set of files relating to BlueWave,
including the Y2K patch Richard made.... it has the patched reader, at
least one door, and the instructions for patching other doors.... Look
for bw-y2k.zip and bw-y2kpb.zip in the bluewave files on
bbs.wpusa.dynip.com (now pointing to SouthEast Star BBS, was Waldo's
Place)... Richard recently tried to upload it here too, on Tiny's BBS,
but doesn't think it took.... but you could check for it here... :)
