the author are seriously injured in a car accident back in the late 80s or early 90s... there have been no updates since then...

    if yes, where to register?

his brother attempted to keep things going but was unable to do so so BW became
    abandonware...

Since BBS operators are one of the larger users of abandoned software, we should probably come up with a definition of abandonware.

No updates for 5 years, invalid email or mailing address? No forwarding address available?

I have cracks for both the BW reader and BBS door here. I figure since the author hasn't been heard from in two decades, no one would care.

Another thing we should do: Let's re-write this stuff! When I say we, I mean you all, cuz I'm no programmer.

    There are alternatives.

Multimail, which is an open source offline mail reader, works with Blue
    Wave.

I think one of the BBS Software authors could easily make the software,
by incorporating their full screen editor (If they have one.)

Modern BBS software has this capability built in. The BBS software I run, MBSE, has Blue Wave capability. I believe Mystic BBS has it also (I'm not sure).

So yes, there are better alternatives out there if you look.
