• SMTP access

    ¡Hola All!

I am your worst nightmare. :-D

This time, the question is related to the SMTP access to BBBS.

I'm very interested to turn on back again my old SMTP access to my echoareas (I was using a personal Internet list server with a gateway over Spoon+Soupgate) but I don't know what is the best solution since BBBS only provides an SMTP client.

For example, do you know how it's built the gateway between SMTP and this echo? Maybe is using the BBBS listin/listout features against a simple email box? Or maybe is using an external SMTP server like postfix?

Some of you is using this feature and offering this gateway service?

    Thanks in advance.

Not at all, it is good to see interest in BBBS. :)

I've been running it as a main FIDO/BBS software since 2014. Before that, in combination with other Fido software (Argus+FMail+GoldED) and BBS software (eleBBS, SynchronetBBS, BBBS itself, etc).

My final choice was BBBS and I no regret, but I hear the sirens singing around (far away).

I'm trying to refresh my node, being the shipwright that is needed to be, and rebuild the hull and clean the sails, call again my old crew and sail on again.

I want to do it with BBBS, but for that I need to set up the news and lists accesses, make attractive (and easy) the web access to my file warehouses, etc.

    Folks

ok, I am coming in with a weird one today. I used the Bluemail QWK/Bluewave reader with BBBS under windows and it could read the area config file

This was some time ago as I switched full time to linux and mac. It seems to open it but for whatever reason, doesn't get any areas. I like bluemail over multimail and if I could read the bbbs areas again, I would be happy.

I have compiled it on my Mac after fixing a few issues and on my Pi ok.

Anyone using it or want to browse the code

I created a github for it at https://github.com/thecivvie/bluemail This is the last version 1.4 that Ingo Brueckl released as far as I know.
