    I just replaced the OEM tires, which were going bald, with Michelin Defenders. We'll see if a tire can be low-rolling-resistance, last 90K miles and handle better than the OEMs.

    The new LRR tires are nice, but handling has been skittish compared to my Camry with wider, traditional tires. The Defenders are supposed to be a better handling tire somewhere between a conventional tire and a LRR tire.

    It's intriguing to think that switching tires could result in a 3 mpg difference.

    Those are the same tires I bought for my 2002 Monte Carlo this past summer. Great tires! 90k miles is a great rating, too. They are comfortable and quiet. Best riding tires I have had in the Monte Carlo.
