Re: Re: 2015 Wrangler
I am looking at the latest Wranglers and considering a two door Sahara since it has more options for differential and ring and pinion ratio without getting into the complexity of the Rubicon. Any ideas on the reliability of the V6? I am sure they are using it in other Chysler products.
I have heard about many issues with the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee with rega to transmission issues. Not sure why the issues seem to be only effecting th line of vehicles.

I had thought that the new 9 speed transmission was "ZF" i.e., Zuffenhausen, which makes the trannies for Porsche and Mercedes. The earlier Chrysler trannies were very unreliable. I had a 1999 Grand Cherokee Laredo with an inline 6 that was awesome but had the transmission light go off one time and there was indication of metal fragments in the fluid. It cost well over
$650.00 to fix the issue, flush the transmission and replace the sensor. Luckily, my wife took the car during our divorce and I got the newer Honda Accord because I needed the reliability to work and pay her bills :O
